IP Transit
- Q2 2020 Pricing Update: In Q2 we always make a big push for fresh IP transit prices. While 2020 has been the exception in terms of the new demands it placed on the network, many of the key pricing trends that characterized the IP transit market prior to the pandemic remain—robust volume growth and sharp price declines. Across key global routes, prices have fallen 24% compounded annually since 2017.
- New Analysis: Interested in diving further into those IP transit pricing trends? We’ve included the pricing chapter of our Global Internet Geography report in the analysis section of the Pricing Suite.
Wavelengths
- Updated Price Points: With the Q2 2020 update we added a ton of price points across all regions. We found 10 & 100 Gbps wavelength prices across key submarine cable routes fell an average of 20% and 24% compounded annually over the past three years. The largest price reductions were seen on intra-Asia and U.S.-Latin America routes, two regions that have been the focus of recent cable construction.
- A Closer Look: We’ve broken down sales mix trends for 10 & 100 Gbps wavelengths, leases & IRUs, and analyzed carrier restructuring and its impact on prices in Brazil in our latest Bandwidth Pricing Report. Find them in the analysis section of the Pricing Suite.
