The Transport Networks Forecast Service—formerly the Global Bandwidth Forecast Service—has been refreshed for Q1 2023.

The big news is that we’ve added the complete list of country-to-country routes for all 179 countries covered in this product. Find this in the Excel deliverable and as a separate table.

But that's not all. Along with new historical and extended forecasted data on internet backbone bandwidth, you'll see the following:

• A completed assessment of international capacity deployed by content providers. The 2022 values for content provider capacity are no longer forecasts. We also made adjustments to the forecasted growth rates for content provider demand. As a part of the analysis, we sometimes revise historical data too.
  
  
• Final year-end 2022 prices that we observed in the market for 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps wavelengths. We adjusted price erosion trajectories based on new market intelligence.
  
  
• A slower uptake of 400 Gbps in the forecasts. Demand for this product is emerging slower than anticipated.
  
  
• A new addressable market size. This was updated based on the timing and ownership of planned cables.
