Happy Throwback Thursday.

Today we're looking back to 1936 when the first annual report of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) was released. (And it had everything: broadcasting! Cable television! Wireless telecommunications! Spectrum management!)

And another bit of telecom trivia: this text was the FCC’s first annual report after the Interstate Commerce Commission ceded regulation of wire communication.

Topics covered include:

  • Stats for amateur, broadcast, and commercial radio
  • Overview of telephone and telegraph markets
  • Developments in international radio and telephone communications
